Fancy putting your poems to music?

entry picture

There’s been a bit of discussion on these pages recently about rhythm in poetry. Well here’s a chance to collaborate with musicians, experimenting with text and sound to produce short pieces and a CD of your work. This workshop comes highly recommended by previous attendees from Write Out Loud. Not sure if there's truth in the rumours that Leonard Cohen started here, but it could have been!

The workshop, on 9th June in Lancaster, is led by friend of Write Out Loud, Ann Wilson - see her profile - very popular performance poet and organiser in the North West who runs the monthly open-mic poetry night at The Brewery in Kendal.

Ann will be conducting the session with artist, musician, producer, composer, Shaun Blezzard who ran Earth Monkey Productions and the event is organised by Spotlight, Lancaster's long-standing open-mic organisers and highly successful workshop organisers. Go, try it out. It's only £10 - less for concessions and low waged. Full details in the gig guide entry.
