Perspective

They think

I am on the outside

looking in

beguiled by questions - scholarship - intellectualism

erecting barriers against the sleeping spirit.

But I say:

What a strange thought.

I live to learn

and learn to live

with understanding

in the constancy of Spirit:

is … was … and shall be ...

There is no sleeping!

And I wonder why they  peer at me

with murky eyes

as ‘through a glass darkly’.

But who is boastful?

Humility is essential to Truth

and Love.

It is hard to eschew superiority -

easily the Greatest Lie

of all Lies.

Intriguing, thought-provoking, enigmatic. And 1 Corinthians 13:12 to boot. A teasing piece, Cynthia. It feels like the centre of the poem lies around the word 'Humility'. Not a virtue that is praised much these days, but still refreshing for others to encounter, and still essential in order to properly learn.

This piece of work is more than interesting. Could anything what was written be a real poet on purpose?

It's more than a thinking piece, isn't it?

Interesting work Cynthia!
It didn't show me enough to get under the skin of it. Was this on purpose?
It certainly is a "thinking piece".

I love your poems because they have a real sense.

I live to learn

For me these words sounds like:
We eat so that to live
but ....not on the contrary.

This is the best poem! Love it so much! And...really... can't find the words to express myself as...it is so true, this poem is so beautiful!
