All the green outside might have gone

And the cold dark nights seem dreary long,

But green garlands and boughs inside will appear

Bedecked with twinkling fairy lights to end the year.

Though the gale and blizzard outside may blow

There is love and cheer and warmth inside,

So let the festive food and wine generously flow
