Crazy Paving

I paved over my garden
And soon the singing stopped
Lazily I bet my hedges
For no return
Nothing grew
Nothing fell
A few pot plants to create an illusion
Weeding out the wild life
Showing in the cracks
The things that blew in
I swept away
Water ran off
Causing floods down the road

Very apt - very clever; like the play on "money-market jargon'; hard to tell which is the metaphor - a good ploy.
