Magma launches no 50 at the Troubadour
Coffee-House Poetry at the famous Troubadour cellar club in London on Monday 27 June coincides with the launch of the 50th issue of Magma magazine. This special 50th “birthday” event features selected contributors, news of upcoming Magma issues, and special guest poets: John Glenday from Drumnadrochit - Grain (Picador, 2009) was shortlisted for both the Ted Hughes award and Griffin International poetry prize; Anthony Joseph's Bird Head Son is both the title of his latest (Salt) poetry collection and his second album with the Spasm Band; Lorraine Mariner's Furniture (Picador, 2009) was shortlisted for Forward Best First Collection; and Helen Ivory, a 1999 Gregory award winner, who teaches in continuing education at UEA. Her third collection is The Breakfast Machine (Bloodaxe, 2010).
