Symphony Hall Birmingham’s poet in residence, Julie Boden, is appearing at the PureandGoodandRight open mic night on Monday 9 May at the Sozzled Sausage in Leamington Spa.  Julie has appeared on Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour, Poetry Societies and Poetry Please, and Radio 3’s The Verb. Her published poetry collections include Through the Eye of a Crow, Wasted Lives, Bluebeard’s Wife, and Aheenthi, which has been translated into Gujarati. She was also Birmingham’s poet laureate in 2002-03. Admisson £3 (£2 student /pensioner). Seasoned poets and first-time performers all welcome. It starts at 7.30pm.
