Your Scripts And What To Do With Them

entry picture

The Not Part Of Festival are pleased to announce the seminar  - Your Scripts And What To Do With Them at 5pm 8th July at Urbis.

With Guest Speakers from BBC Writersroom and North West Playwrights this is an excellent opportunity for those who are interested in scriptwriting but aren’t sure which route to take, or have written a script and don’t know what to do with it.

“The Not Part Of Festival is all about providing opportunities for those who feel they are not part of the creative industries but are passionate about creativity. This seminar is an excellent platform for those people to discover the first steps towards a career in script or playwrighting.’

Beth McCann, Not Part Of

BBC Writersroom are the first point of call at the BBC for all unsolicited scripts and writers. All work is assessed primarily for the talent of the writer, and in addition for the script’s suitability for further development. When BBC Writersroom reads a script that excites them they will do all they can to champion that writer within the organisation and help with their development.

North West Playwrights exists to develop and promote new writing for the theatre in the North West Of England. Their services include collaboration and support, script reading and writer support.

‘We hope to run many more seminars like this in future festivals, and it’s exciting to think that in future Not Part Of’s we could be showing films and plays written by those at this seminar.’
