Pighog Press have teamed up with the Centre for Community Engagement (CCE) and the Students Union at the University of Sussex to launch The Moss Rich 'Sounding the Site' Poetry Competition - celebrating Britain's oldest working poet, Moss Rich. Still captivating readers with his un-blunted brand of satirical verse, Moss Rich (pictured) is now in his 101st year!

The competition is only open to those living, or attending a secondary school, college, or university in Sussex. The theme is ‘Root and Branch’, and poems must be no longer than 30 lines. There is no fee to enter but you may only submit one poem and it must be accompanied by an entry form, and reach Pighog by the deadline of Monday, 28th February 2011.

There are four categories and each category winner will receive £75 plus a limited edition Pighog boxed set, including a signed pamphlet by Moss Rich. There will also be runners-up prizes in each category, and the winning and runners’ up poems will be published on the Pighog website together with comments from the judges.

You can find further details and full rules from the Pighog website at: www.pighog.co.uk

Also on the website - for Valentine's Day, Pighog will be publishing a really remarkable limited edition - a unique collection of love poems, written since 1939 by Moss Rich for his wife Milly, to celebrate birthdays and anniversaries. You can pre-order this beautiful and moving record of a lifetime of love and a remarkable relationship for delivery on 14th February, to someone you love.
