a moment in time

entry picture

As I gaze deep into open skies

Longing for a moonlight kiss in the milky darkness

A myriad of stars soften the overhead plain

Pin pricks in vast tapestry, luminosity burning through

Encapsulated by the serenity of being

The artwork of night blessed with light, seeping through the horizon

All around is placid and calm

Pick out the trickle and ebb of water in the near distance

Breathing life into sleeping fishes heady from the days events

For one of their number sleeps eternal this day fore

Thickly the smog leaves my lungs and passes my lips one last time

The poisons come one with the night time air

Deep and long are the plumes of smoke that satiate my being

Adding to this the perfect moment

There will never be another such as this

I like this, Alan. We've all been surprised by the sort of intense, vivid experience you describe, but so often it's soon gone. Turn it into words which beautifully enapsulate the experience, as you've done here, and it's never lost.
