Extreme Complicity

Now it’s not that extreme violence,

Extreme scorn,

Extreme bigotry,

Extreme hate…

Aren’t extreme, they’re just mainstream.

People spit and sip from this poisoned chalice with malice.

On both sides,

Of the equation.

But what of the old people who smile, act happy,

Yet calmly state “I won’t go to a shop that’s run by a Paki”?

Blame TESCO for destroying their communities,

Whilst sitting back and doing nothing.

That is if you call “nothing”

a proactive choice of malignant apathy.

There are two cancers inside my grandfather,

One kills the body, the other kills the spirit.

I love him…

He loves me.

But he doesn’t love “my kind”,

Lesbian, gay, bi kind.

Uses queer as a pejorative,

Masterful and authorative.

They say that it’s “generational racism”,

 Just “Casual homophobia”,

Seen as caged animals,

Unclean,

Impure.

Lesser.

Germany lost the war,

But Nazism won it.

Humanity lost it.

Humanity lost it.

Political correctness hasn’t gone mad,

But society has.

The Emperor has new clothes,

And he’s dressed as a Stormtrooper.

We empower the Emperor,

Whilst disempowering ourselves.

Blind to the less extreme reality,

Ignorant to laissez-faire depravity.

I issue a huge fuck you,

To all that hate without reason.

I issue a huge fuck you,

To those committing spiritual treason.

We’re all connected,

All affected.

Are these old codgers forgetful,

Or implicitly displaying the scarred shrapnel of a wounded ego?

The British came on boats to invade,

The post-war Commonwealth volunteered to save.

For Queen and Country,

Love for a country that hated them.

Love for a country that forgets their contribution,

Love for a country that apologises to old bigots to save face.

Save face or be two-faced?

Only Gillian Duffy truly knows the answer.

She is a beacon of the great, implicit hate,

“Where are all those Eastern Europeans coming from?”

How about Eastern Europe you daft old bitch…

Hate to be blunt, but she’s flipped my switch.

Like my legal namesake I feel the electricity,

Charged with the task of making my country deserve its name.

A kingdom that is united,

A Britain that is great.

Red, white, black, yellow, and blue,

Grey and green – aliens too.

Form a Universal Nations,

With a love that transcends dimensions.

Till then I’ll continue to be EXTREMELY pissed off.

I guess there’s an extremist in all of us…

Oooh, I'm tingling with this one. Love it. Love the irony of getting angry about angry people, and the precision with which you put forth your arguments. A poetic scalpel, and DEFINITELY one suited for live performance I'd say.
