Love is Blind

entry picture

He didnt see when he left for work that day

He didnt see you treasure your phone

Like a precious gift

Falling on your bed

Smiling - twisting the duvet in anticipation

Love is Blind

He didnt see that when you were late home that night

He didnt see you sat at the bar - your legs swinging - hoping for more

Wishing you were free - one eye on the door

Love is Blind

He didnt see your shoulders shrink

When he touched your hair,

Your cheek, your lips

Your thoughts elsewhere

Thinking of the other - lover

Yes, Love is Definitely Blind

Hi Jean
Having just discovered this being new to WOL I concur with Alain's comment from 2010 that often relationships are taken for granted. It captures the fact that sometimes we can all be too blind to see. Nice poem.

I like this - the love blindness theme nails the complacency that can set into relationships very easily - getting so used to someone there comes a point where you don't notice them any more. It's well rendered. Good poem!
