Escalator Literature Prize

entry picture

Take a giant leap towards your first poetry collection as the Writers’ Centre Norwich will launch a unique writing prize in autumn 2010.

This is an early notification of a competition that will be accepting entries shortly, so watch this space as further information will become available shortly.

The 'Escalator Literature' is not your average poetry competition. Prize winners will enjoy a year-long programme of support with their writing; mentoring from established poets; a summer school residential based at the UEA and support in making an Arts Council England Grants for the Arts bid.

The prize will be open to poets yet to publish a first collection, and for the first time the Escalator Literature prize will be open to applicants from all parts of England.

Escalator Literature is an Arts Council England  funded initiative and has been running for five years. Many Escalator Literature prize winners have gone on to find agents and get published with writers including Fraser Grace, Helen Ivory, Susan Sellers and Nicola Upson.
