Confined by Chains

My life is confined by Parkinson’s chains

A condition that holds nothing but disdains

What actual scope for movement gains?

Somewhere inner me complains

Is there a future that ascertains?

Over a landscape of uneven plains

Carried forward inside rickety old trains

Outside views, obscured by torrential rains

My mind can’t picture the way, confusion reigns

Scrambled tableaus cause nothing but banes

Yet my hopes woven within silken threads remains

Ambitions dignifying a way forward, track it maintains

A whole support team, take away fear, which calmly explains

Whist medication lifts the blocks of pain like building site cranes

When ‘real me’ surfaces to laugh, joke, or just entertains

I surprise myself sometimes with against the odd gains

I have a fight to live my futures courses through my veins

All suffers hope for the day when Parkinson’s that’s enchained

Hello, Phil

You are a wonderful Ambassador to the Parkinson Society; please not be offended by my comment. As hard, as it sounds to live with this illness one has to keep going. If you give up then your life will be shattered like a Crystal glass. Your writings will help others to understand better the health problem you are going through. I am sympathizing with you. Worked for 22 years in a Rehab Hospital and have seen many different illnesses that people were going through. You are showing tremendous strength with in you. Keep it that way. Today medicine can help a lot to support the shortage of that brain Chemicals that you need to replace by taking the MEDS. Keep writing as you do. Your words are of great importance. I see you being busy than this is the most rewarding for your brain so it does not quit on you. Thank you for sharing a portion of your heart in this heartfelt poem. I agree with Daniel that it is not easy to comment on this.

Many thanks for commenting on my latest poem. I will head for the publishing perhaps in the future. I am in a process of recovery from a car accident. When finished the claim, I will think about that!
PS: Congratulations on the Manchester United winning the World Cup in Moscow!!

Have a wonderful day!

With my best wishes,
Zuzanna

Difficult to comment on this one. Parkinson's is a terrible desease to be trapped within, just as this poem appears to be trapped within the rhyme on every line.
