Little Girl Pumping Iron
She's 2 years old and still in diapers or pull-ups.
She has a softly fierce personality in a wonderful way.
I have 2 small yellow-colored exercise weights that she discovered tucked away in a corner of my cluttered living room.
Left to her own devices while I was in the kitchen,
she picked the weights up and started an exercise routine.
Standing firm with her bare feet planted flat and holding the weights in her hands, I came upon her saying in her tiny girl voice,
"1...2...3...4...5..."
as she lifted her arms slowly up and down.
"Be careful," I scolded, "those are heavy! Don't drop them on your toes!"
A bit nervous, I returned briefly to the kitchen,
and when I stepped back into the living room, I heard her little voice say softly to herself,
"I put them back all by myself and didn't drop them."
How cool is that.
A strong little girl pumping iron.
