Playing in the Garden

Don't take life so seriously

Stop worrying about all the heavy sorrows

I see the young ones suffering

from heartbreak and failure

Lighten up girlfriend

I tell myself

I remind myself

This is part of growing up

We are resilient beings

Believe in resilience

What a beautiful word

Resilience resilience resilience

Bouncing back

Crawling out of the ditch

Dusting oneself off and starting over

Don't create clouds of doom over anyone's head

No, open a window and let the light in!

Worrying is a tangled mess

Faith and trust are as a gentle rainfall

washing away fear

cleansing the soul

lifting the heart

Be brave with the young ones

laugh and hug

and play in the garden of life.

Yeah, I hear you Uilleam. Sometimes I am so angry at wars, torture, etc.etc. etc. that I feel my head is going to explode. Black humor helps. 😡😇

Glad the poem lifted you up Rolph. It's funny, after posting this poem on WOL, I edited it in my journal to take out the line "resilience, resilience, resilience" because it seemed too repetitive; now I'm going to put it back in! I learned that word some years ago at a school meeting for a grandkid w/ learning disabilities; one of his teachers commented that he tries to teach the kiddos to be resilient. Bravo, I remember thinking, what a great way to approach life's challenges.

Thanks, Hélène.
To be truthfuI, at the moment, I'm having trouble with your first line: but I'll try at least to deploy a bit of "black humour".😈😄

Dear Hélène,
Your poem touched me — it feels like a gentle voice reminding us not to drown in worry, but to return to the lightness we so often forget. The repetition of “Resilience resilience resilience” really stayed with me — it’s both poetic and powerful. Thank you for this hopeful and heart-lifting piece. It will make me breathe a little easier today and enable me "to play in the garden of life".

Regards,
Rolph
