Butterflies Alight

— seeing things —

Moments of vision soon fade away
yet a magical moment is, here, today;
& all it will cost you, is all of your life.

Cast over the sea
& cast over the moon
she’ll be reading the stars
while you’re reading the runes.

Green shades, dappled sunlight,
these landscapes of the eye,
moment follows moment,
her life passes by.

The primal scream of silence,
modulated, nuanced, on time,
words wrapped up in chime,
the quintessence of rhyme.

Dream her to flight,
please allow her to fly,
as murmuring voices,
her whole life, flutters by.

So, drift me into butterfly,
& dance me into trance,
a sleeping hypnosis,
& a silent romance.

She’s the apotheosis of gaze,
& the opposite of glance.
