Beltane Thoughts

Wishing you a Happy Beltane

~

the green man yawns a stretch

as primordial energies wrestling

set themselves free of his leafy grasp,

blissful, unaware, infants sit on a

lawn and thread dandelions and

daisy into crowns,

the oaks have leafed before the ash

and hedgerows are lit with the heavy

mantle of white flowering May,

our loose-limbed fertile sisters

will wanly prance around the

multi-coloured phallic pole

and after dark, beneath a silver moon

bonfires and candle flames will lick,

flickering around their heels,

Belenus will anoint his Queen of the May

and feast his fill with asparagus, bannocks,

rich honey cakes and mead

All hail to mother nature!
Wishing everyone a happy May in return.
Bhealtaine is also the Irish name for the month of May.

Happy May! is:
Beannachtaí na Bhealtaine ort! -to one person.
Beannachtaí na Bhealtaine oraibh! -to more than one person.
💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐

Which, depending on the dialect, is pronounced
/Byan-okht-ee nah Byowl-thin-eh or-uv/
