of markets rising, pipelines long—
a quiet crime disguised as strong.

BP spoke in softened tones,
painted green on shattered stones.
It promised change, but left us bare,
while fires spread and forests flare.

We live beneath what they released—
storms that swell and crops "deceased".

yet none have paid their share of cost.
