For a New

Feeling a spring stirring saying,

                              blossoming blooming

                                            hinting

I am ready for a new muse

How i’d love that

to be touched again, share a life, see my own magic through another’s eyes, giving again

Understanding

after so much time & wasted patience

                                                no lazy and slow

We are not meant to be

I think perhaps long ago you tried to tell me

          But

I so wanted to hear a yes

I listened hard & heard it inside

In music

In musings

In shared pride

You are a man who wears your animalistic self outside his body

               at least to me

So my wildness caught that scent

and we were off, like spotted ones set free

I do know what they are dreaming about, fills me with such pride, how can you know I know?

How can I know you know?

See how the highway echoes, when it’s this empty, naught to be won as we’re through

How

I thought your picture much more beautiful back when you loved me; I did and do

                    raw & electrified & celebratory

Now

You record & write music, you say still love writing songs,

although I suppose for her to sing

Any day, any hour

          I expect

                     and dread

You will show off her ring

Which will pass me on finally into the excitement free land of flickering hope gone amiss

How

         do I find another muse

when that scent caught & trapped my wildness?
