Laws
A nation flooded with laws is condemned by power,
which adapts and manipulates them
to its convenience and fancy
Laws
A nation overburdened with laws is condemned
by the rulers who use them to control and punish
those who do not conform and do not accept to kneel
When the fate of the people
is placed in the hands of a few,
the lives of millions hang in the balance,
and the glow of nihilism and fear prevails
History shows us a few highlights for humanity,
but so far it has been based on the accumulation
of wealth and power. Is it not a coincidence or an irony
that those who achieve it are the ones who make the laws and always manage to go unpunished?
Religious narratives, and those of equality and justice,
have not been of much use;
they have been drowned in an ocean of blood
Cynicism imposes itself, crushes wills at will,
destroys and subjugates, in the midst
of an inexplicable puzzle of inequality and poverty,
and with its laws it is capable of killing
without needing to justify itself
We are heading towards an uncertain destiny
that we neither want nor seek,
and our dreams disappear
in the cold gray of indifference
There is no regard for life,
our days are spent in a maelstrom of aggression
and human dignity is trampled by laws
that only serve to protect the powerful
Lies and abuses are hidden behind layers of distraction
so that everything is forgotten and nothing is questioned
The trap is as hidden as the Roman Colosseum;
now it is the social networks, with tasteless jokes
and strange narratives that have neither head nor tail;
this is how the world is stupefied by truths that are lies
and lies disguised as truths
It is sad to see where this story leads to,
when the common man no longer proposes or has ideas because he is censored and ends
up believing in falsehoods
It will all culminate in a flattened society
where children will be automatons,
people will have no say in their own future,
and the word “freedom” will be completely erased by laws that force people to keep their minds
and mouths shut
