May be your Brother
We do not laugh at the same things,
nor do we cry for the same reasons,
nor do we feel the same way
or share the same dreams;
we pursue different goals
but we all, without exception,
go through life in search of happiness
So why do we still shackle others,
restrict freedom, fight and even kill
for ideas that are not even our own
or classify people because of the color of their skin,
their beliefs, or because they don't think the way we do?
Does the person who
propagates intolerance,
promotes hatred,
opposes free will
or censors speech,
find happiness?
Certainly not
He May be Your Brother
Diversity in all its senses,
be it skin color,
traditions, religious beliefs,
the stories of our ancestors,
no matter who they are,
contrast and enrich our imaginations,
and expands the horizon of our mind
True happiness is achieved by being
in harmony with others,
respecting and accepting differences,
feeling, appreciating and understanding
who is near or far,
who may be your brother and who, like you,
is a living miracle in search of happiness
