Psycho

Cold as steel, the way that you feel.

I'm tempted, your gaze brings a chill.

Ain't no vampires or blood suckers.

Just low dim lights and loose lovers.

I recover, right back to sin.

I remember those old love songs you used to pen.

Now I pen them myself, how we were like Ryuk and Rem.

In the same story, but no glory in the end.

All I wanted was the end.

All you wanted was pretend.

Like a fake image to go with that fake a** smile.

Fake visits to go with that snake a** bile.

Oh child, you gotta burn to reach miles.

I burned, became vile.

Though I'm glad for all the trials, felt I didn't learn s***, kept repeating the old cycle.

Think, eyes, wink.

Blink, lies, shrink.

Drink, dive, sink.

Psycho.

Personal experience! One that I am happy to have overcome 😂

Oh, I see... personal experience or just a piece of fiction?😊

Hey, thanks for showing interest! I’d say the poem/verse is about post-breakup coping mechanisms. And, as you can see, a failure to understand the discomfort from being alone. Going back to toxic patterns and feeling crazy / not understanding why nothing is working.

I'm curious about the poem. Who do you think the author (You)? was writing it for?
