Mid-day Blues

entry picture

Too exhausted to sit up straight

Should have slept a day ago

High noon brings another debate

Make something happen or go with the flow

Wake the blood with a little hair of the dog

I crank the bike, my friend takes the car

Headed for the lake to rinse out the fog

Quick skinny dip, a cold one from the trunk bar

Starting to shake those mid-day blues

Music gets louder as people show up

An impromptu party, spread the news

A little gathering just to get over the hump

Those carefree, foolish days came and went

My work ethic was strong but my play ethic stronger

I took advantage of the time to thoroughly vent

As I laughed and danced my way into the future

Great poem, great picture and great everything!✨
I could connect with the line, "My work ethic was strong but my play ethic stronger."
