Reassurance

Busy day,

Thinking of love,

Blue eyes focused

On the patient’s teeth,

And heart’s growing

Gradually upbeat

Thinking of the

Sweet moments

That stayed

Rent-free

In her mind.

But a fear

Crept from behind,

‘What if this too

Shall not last long?

Is this feel-good,

Intense-euphoric-feeling

Entering exactly

Where it belongs,

Or am I wrong?’

Phone chimes,

Excuses; promises

To return shortly,

And replies hurriedly,

“I’m sorry

For my late replies baby,

I’m just caught up

With some work,

I will reply to you shortly.”

And he replies reassuringly,

“It’s alright my love,

Take your time,

I’ll be here for a lifetime.”

Beautiful poem Manish. It carries a lot of speculation and emotion through it till the last three lines, where we see the resolve of one heart's commitment. Well written, my friend.
