Lonely Thoughts

I grow older and envious of youth,

I have made myself fearful of truth,

A chip off the old block,

A chip out of the same tooth,

What's the use of denying the elephant on the roof.

Can a man change his stars,

Can a man change whilst reminded of his struggles by his scars?

Can we move on simply by driving in our cars?

Or are we stuck between possibilities,

ceasing to take charge.

What ever it may be that may be holding you back,

Get yourself up get back on track,

Get the demon off your back,

Don't slack,

Don't look back.
