Swans across the sun

Signify the day is done

Geese across the sky,

Calling with their barking cry

Autumn moon stares

On Septembers silent air.

The remnants of summer heat

Leaving now, no repeat.

Mother Nature prepares for rest

Packing up her travel chest

Preparing all for winter slumber

The season of the fourth in number

Shorter days bring in the mist

Green leaves now turn gold and crisp

Burrows found and dug in haste

No food now must go to waste

The world is left to Winters hand

Jack Frost icing covers land

Until we wake in Springtime sun,

With joyful hearts new hope begun.
