The official art has been unveiled 
and by replacing its predecessor 
assures us the state has made progress 
in the treatment of its peoples 

it was created by a formerly 
oppressed member 
now aided by generous grants 

being rigorously scrutinized 
before its installation 
by a committee of volunteers 
prominent in the recent relief effort  

it sits in the main square 
reflecting the daylight 
off the banking towers 
and in the words of its maker 

attempts to evoke 
the desires and ambitions 
of the next generation of 
banking tower occupants
