‘But he came to see us!!’

She said, trying not to kick up a fuss—

‘Surely we can at least say hello—

Before they go!!’

The Disturbance Leader cast her a glance:

‘We are not here to DANCE—

On command

Just because someone’s paid several grand

To be fancy at the Malangen Resort, on that there piece of land’.

(He pointed with his luminous green finger down at the place—

And well…..YOU SHOULD HAVE SEEN EVERYONES FACE!!—

As he lit up the sky--

Yes--some of them cried).

The Disturbance-In-Training decided not to talk back.

She needed to become less emotional

About trying to provide great focal—

Points for tourists to point their cameras at—

She was too much of a sucker for that.

She’d gotten too used to the praise

As the humans gazed

On the unearthly light show that they, the Disturbances, raised.

‘We are not simply here to please those folk!!’

The leader continued as he choked

Up about how they’d become just another tourist attraction

Only there for the wealthy faction—

To see and benefit from—

He wished that EVERYONE could come—

No matter what their worth

This was also THEIR EARTH!!

(He was a socialist by ethos

Despite also being the big boss

Interesting, huh?).

The Universe shifted in his chair—

‘Can we take the tone down a little please!!’

He wheezed.

He was old and tired—

And honestly? He wished he could just get himself fired.

It had been 14 billon long years—

All the tears

Like when the dinosaurs died out—

Now those guys had had REAL clout,

But time moves on

For all the suns

The moons

And the tunes

The quasars and blazars

Play

As they stray

Further and further away—

Cosmic inflation like an out-of-control bus

On a highway to nowhere.

If you could stop and stare—

At him - the Universe - when all said and done,

‘It WOUDLN’T be a lot of fun’—

Brain Cox said in his whispering hushed breath—

‘The Universe will end in an unspectacular heat death--

Where nothingness grows'.

Well In that case then, EVERYTHING blows—

These days, ughhh!!
