An Hour In Time

entry picture

The year 1620

The place--White Mountain

The time, 11am—

And we see again

Two sides ready to fight

Not for the right

'To party'

But for religion—

With only a SMIDGEON

Of a difference between the two types--

Of the same creed—

And yet their rulers feel the need—

To have this battle

Using men like cattle.

Within an hour

All were cowering

At the sight of the losses

Of course their bosses

Were nowhere to be seen

4000 protestants had been

Killed, with Imperial numbers

Approximately 7 hundred.

A one hour battle

Losing men like cattle

Bohemians vs Imperialists

With another curious twist—

Rene Descartes

Was present (as an official ‘observer’)--who later imparts

His philosophical knowledge.

Well? I’m sat eating my porridge—

Trying to quickly scan and improve *my* knowledge—

Of the Battle of White Mountain.

Just an hour long—hard to imagine

And yet we don’t *need to* imagine-

Today. Because it’s still here

The fear

Of difference

Intolerance.

Over 400 years later

Thousands experiencing the same fate are--

Lost to us all.
