Today I learned of an event 
from August 1989
It was named The Baltic Way
a peaceful protest of it’s time

Two million people formed a line 
united as they all joined hands 
A 600km human chain 
reached across the Baltic lands

In their efforts towards freedom
they forged this emotive display
Independence came to the Baltics
influenced by actions that day

This image made me stop and think 
how wonderful it would be
If the world could stand hand in hand 
to set all our troubles free 

Proof that actions make a difference 
no matter how big or small  
Imagine the world stood hand and hand 
bringing peace to one and all
