Barricade

Barricade

Keep them close to your heart where they can make a new start.                                                                             Give them both one more chance to try another dance.                                                                          They need time to spend, together make amends.                                                                                                                           Love was on their side before- they need to make some more.

When the lights begin to fade and the darkness comes to serenade                                                                  let love come to their aid to form a barricade.

Give them one reason why they can’t give love another try                                                                                                  to let them heal their hearts, each one take their part.                                                                              Forget who was keeping score of who was hurting more                                                                or who got it wrong today- of what got in the way.

When the light starts to fade, and the darkness comes to serenade                                              If love comes to their aid may they form a barricade.

When the past comes to your door to relive an unsettled score                                                                                                                                                                            you have to make it plain you can’t go through it all again:                                                                                     For It will only end in pain regretting past mistakes on old terrain.

Now, as the light begins to fade the stars with darkness serenade                                                                             Love must come to your aid to form a barricade.

A snow wind blizzard forms heartbroken frozen love reborn                                                                                                       Love breaks the back of fate after a life long wait                                                                                                       love is hard on those who’s love frostbites their toes                                                                                   The frosty gauntlet down has now left town                                                                                               Come to break the chains that love’s freedom reigned

Now all the light has gone as the night ends Its parade                                                                                  The dawn rises over one more charade to softly form a Barricade

Please be at peace don’t be alarmed I will never let you be harmed                                                      I love you so but must let you go you’re never happy always low                                                                          But I’m the one who causes pain it comes and goes again and again                                                                     Your kind and tender charms I wish could keep them in my arms

When the twilight comes you must not fear don’t be afraid I’m always here                                      Throughout our lives forever near our memories shared over all these years                                                  I love you so, all but love has stayed, with us and never strayed                                                                                             Lord, keep us in Your Love l pray, that we  will never fade.                                                                                                     And You will be our serenade and our Barricade.
