For long I have been in the background

In the shadows, the blackness

From the spotlight on stage

Into the sidelines, hiding in the wings

 

Equal time I have spent on both sides

Thinking and waiting for my time

Dreaming of success

Waiting for the space to shine

 

Mister, you were not sure

Of what you are getting into then

You blindly followed the lines

Blinkered up, like a dutiful mustang  

 

Never was there any space in your life

After her and you, nothing mattered to you

I never thought, never even occurred to me

That I was only a duty to be followed through

 

Life has been about you always

I realized that a bit late

The concern and love I saw

Was only practicality under a jacket

 

 

Now you ask me to break the trap

bloom, bloom like a lotus just budding

When the quicksand has swallowed me whole

You want me to undo your doing

 

But your words have hurt me

more than your actions

now I feel more and more

like am stuck in an expensive alliance

 

I cant walk away or run

Blame it on society or responsibility

Or maybe just my inertia,

That keeps me form being happy and healthy

 

Its time to really introspect

And find the self that I lost

It must be in some corner of me

For losing her I have already paid the cost
