Phonograph

The phonograph feigns interest

In the nets of narrative

Woven in the third person

To catch the tales

Of a semi-reliable narrator,

Curator of once melodious

Motifs, morphed now into

A diaspora of discordant

Echoes, which the stylus

Stern but righteous,

Delivers as it pierces

A lifetime's past tense.
