DREam InG SunS

It’s said that when you came to me

With stories of your life that’s gone,

you needed a hand to hold, a shoulder to lean against and cry on

Or was it that I needed you more than the life I lead

A lover to join me in the last days of dreaming suns to sigh on.

The journey this then took us on, around the world , emotions strong

To fight all mountains in our way , to fight the eagerness to stay

Within the confines of our bodies needs.

Ignore the signs that tear apart lovers lives and lovers hearts

But pressing on through stormy nights and darkness.

Climbing over rocks of fear, though weary, we are still here, and clutch at fire and ashes

like all lovers gone before parting, eyes upon the floor

Hoping each contains a spark.

To kindle heat held deep inside, to burst  out into laser light from the oceans tempest ,unwilling cold and dark.

Now turning back I meet your eyes which blue and warm as summer sky’s

Greet my gaze with welcome childlike laughter

And walk into each other’s arms we realise that know one else will save us from the next  unwritten chapter.

Taking arms we walk alone in silence  minds now sequenced and honed

To each other’s thoughts  and fears of future moments

The story that you had before entwined with mine we don’t need more

Just lovers dreaming suns.
