Along the road map to our way out
we reached another milestone today
We can take a trip to the cinema 
or visit the theatre to watch a play

Thirty people can gather outside
indoors it’s two households or up to six
Masks and social distancing keeps us safe
as we venture out and begin to mix 

Travel abroad is allowed once more
as long as the destination is green
We can holiday, take a hotel break
visit somewhere we have never been 

The most important change made today
hugging is now not such a heinous crime
I look forward to hugs with family and friends
and making up for lost time
