Scheherazade devises a plan

To wear tales like jewels

And use them as munition

On her ever noble mission

To assuage a sultan's wrath,

Till he simply has to know

Of all fresh follies

In strangers' stories,

And is thus safely enrapt. 

 

So to spin a good yarn

May transcend the realm of art;

It can be the armament you need

To resist tyrannical caprice.
