Limbo

Have you ever had that feeling that you’re living life in limbo,

that nothing much has happened since you finished work for Chrimbo?

The world has passed you by while everybody’s stuck in lockdown,

and waiting till these artificial barriers are knocked down.

Have you ever had that feeling that you’re living life in limbo,

while your aged mother’s watching, standing there with arms akimbo.

She doesn’t understand why you can’t just come round and hug her,

and thinks you’re being awkward like some human Rum-Tum-Tugger.

Have you ever had that feeling that you’re living life in limbo,

and fed a load of lies that only sound like mumbo-jumbo,

but still you’ll hold the line and wait your turn for vaccination,

‘cause nobody could dream up such a crazy situation.

Have you ever had that feeling that you’re living life in limbo,

while all around they whisper that you’re just some daft old dimbo

You look at them and think that they’re all thinking I’m alright Jack,

but all you really want is that you get your own old life back.

Absolutely! My life has shrunk like an old jersey, and has holes in it too.
