If life had a blueprint?

A cipher for the pitfalls,

For the obstacles a rubric?

 

But wouldn't that drain 

Discovery of its delight?

Who wants the poetry of dreams

To turn prosaic at the seams?

 

Fortune's quicksilver acrobatics

Might draw out a gasp,

But grace is only forged in fire,

With a pirouette on high wire...
