Tiptoe Through The Tulips

Tulip fields as far as the eye can see

and beyond - Generations

splicing.. dicing...bonding

Exporting a seasons creation

for pleasure and for peace

Securing a life for future families

and as the crow flies

four hundred miles over land and sea

there is a place

where victims go willingly

to play.. befriend.. communicate

with mammals of a different species

forced to think like soldiers trained to kill

and they stand waiting

hooks and daggers drawn

in fear.. anticipation.. dread

for a season to prove they are men

On Feroe Island, Denmark

the ocean becomes a bed of red

and Calderon dolphins

in their hundreds lay dead!

note: Based on fact, this is an annual event considered to be a sport.

I really don't care if it's not what some people consider to be a 'poem'. It's just my way of making people aware of the needless cruelty in this world. Thankyou for reading. Janet.
