True To Your Truth

entry picture

Try and hold true to your truth,

Try and not lie, especially to yourself,

Don't age prematurely, nor cling desperately to youth,

Attend to your spirit, your mind and your health,

Don't overfill your pockets or mouth,

Don't under-fill your heart or your mind,

Never ignore the darkness that lives in both,

Show it the light, let it learn to be kind,

Know that a silent, solitary walk in the orchard,

Matters as much as the way that is shared,

Two ears, one mouth, use them in that proportion,

Of your ill informed rantings, the world should be spared,

And finally love as much and as true as you can,

It will hurt at times and your heart will be broken,

But in life there is no greater crime,

Than a life unlived for a love unspoken.
