The Sunday Afternoon Of A Technophobe

I think I need to go back to school

I fear I am becoming an obsolete old fool

New technology drives me insane

why can't instructions be simple and plain

A new soundbar should be a breeze

plug and go, switch on and connect with ease

Not quite as simple as it sounds

when no bluetooth on your TV can be found

The search for the right cable begins

short, long, hdmi, usb, flat round, fat or thin

Plug and play sounds good to me

unfortunately for us, it can never be that easy

I search the pile of tangled cables

kept in a box under the stairs, without any labels

I try one or two, maybe a few

My frustration grows and grows, the air is blue

Eventually I find the one that fits

my husband is delighted, he is thrilled to bits

I am a true genius, he declares

I am a wonderful wife, the answer to his prayers

The soundbar is now connected

Netflix has been scrolled, his favourite film is selected

The sound is so loud and all around

I shout but he can't hear me, PLEASE TURN IT DOWN
