Glancing Shadows

Glancing Shadows

This Sun frightens my deeper of Soul,
It is a Sun I am coveted beneath yet none know
How truth the torture of heat and light
Has many upon maddening states, ready
To throw life beyond their manic horizon,
     A realm where Frida Kahlo
Sought dark rooms to escape the brilliance
Of pain,

Worshippers are they never known by
Galactic foe who decree intellects of compassion
An enemy to be destroyed,
And then here we are, feeling pain
Of emotional despair more violently than
A physical distraction,
     For once upon The Sun;
The light bares vicious scars while
Glancing Shadows run far,
But you dare not, and cannot flee.

The midday hour takes a break but
I am screaming if caught the daylight upon
     My skin,
For as tall and strong I may stride; by
My side and upon the floor is the shadow
Of a Man doubled and pained, holes
Within the shadow where once was heart
     And guts and brain.

As I walk the Glancing Shadows of Ancient
Realms look away and turn away, run before
My dark entrails touch their presence,
Mine own holes casting light and doubt
Upon their old existence they cling with fear.

     Tomorrow the surgeon tries again,
Nervous the blade to sculpt a hope has his hand
Stress complaint,
His heart be wide but never knowing
I existed before and now, an unpleasant
Acceptance a paranormal realm thrives
Upon the healthy denial we are taught.

I cry for his look of sorrow he
Tries to conceal as the needle injects a brief escape,
I drift, and drift, and drift but before
I total the place once natural,
     A darkest of Glancing Shadow
Stands over the table, and grabs
     The organs left.

A snarling look from Orange Eyes falls
Upon me while his arms clutch his take,
He holds my heart to the Sun and notes
The many pitholes that let the light through,
He turns to me, leans in upon my
Sleep paralysis;
And bites deep into a heart
That yields a soft centre where love
Evokes an unnatural bounty, a high -
A rareity that persists his hunt,

As he swoons and falls upon the floor,
His Glancing Shadow reveals the tears he
Always sought,
And to 'The Light,' he weeps.
