Creature in Disguise

A creature in disguise,

You took us by surprise,

You spread yourself out wide,

and took a very fast ride;

 

You grew and grew and grew,

and spread so quickly through,

impacting many lives,

you've darkened all the skies.

 

You made the world standstill -

And raced with your strong will,

With a mission to fulfill,

To harm and also kill.

 

You caused the world fears,

And put the anxious in tears,

Covered us up in masks,

From fear of your attacks.

 

You have threatened all the weak,

caused the outlook to be bleak,

protective instincts appear,

with a future that’s unclear-

 

you will not last too long,

you will not remain strong,

every beginning has an end,

this is only a trend;

 

All humans must stand strong,

It will not be for long,

what’s meant is meant to be,

there is no way to flee.

 

Faced with difficulty,

with a harsh calamity,

but all will be free,

with positivity,

 

a question for all 

is it a sort of call? 

A divine decree?

Reminder for you and me?

 

What do we live for?

Are we on the floor?

Or with faith do we soar?

A reminder we shouldn’t ignore;

 

Is it time to reflect -

on every life aspect?

Is it time to redirect?

Or should we just neglect?
