I am getting hot and bothered

such a chore to get anything done

Everyone is on their holidays

I wonder where everyone has gone

 

Spain is still in quarantine

France not quite, but on the verge

Portugal is on a travel ban

Turkey and Greece have had a surge

 

In England, Scotland, Wales

no hotel reservations can be found

Holiday cottages are full up

camping spaces, thin on the ground

 

In the middle of a heatwave

hot sunny days met by stormy nights

Grateful to be in my home

not in a tent on a flooded camp site
