Scottish Poetry Library to operate 'click and collect' service

entry picture

The Scottish Poetry Library will begin operating with a reduced ‘click and collect service from 17 August. After browsing the SPL’s online catalogue, users can order a book they wish to borrow by emailing the SPL at reception@spl.org.uk or calling 0131 557 2876 between 10am and 2pm, Monday to Friday, to arrange to come to the library to pick the book up. To return items, borrowers can put the book through the SPL letterbox or post it (or email to see if it is possible to extend the loan). The SPL is extending its loan period from three to eight weeks until further notice.

During this period, the SPL is offering free postal borrowing of up to two books at a time. Staff will be wearing protective gloves and taking all recommended precautions, but users might wish to consider quarantining their books for 72 hours after collecting them from the Library.

The Scottish Poetry Library is due to reopen in September, with floor signs marking out safe distances, hand sanitiser gel stations and a Perspex barrier across the reception area to protect both users and staff. Staff will be kitted out with PPE. More details
