as a leaf

exhale

float
inanimate
on a watery
planet

buoy up
drift down
breaking waves
for sound

no right
or wrong
only the lonely
dolphin's song

taste the salt
in the air
soak in the
sun's glare

across the water
i skim
like a sail
full of wind

below
i go
with the
undertow

time flies
a surreal ride
ebb and flow
with the tide

the full
moon
pulls me back
too soon

feel the
sand
on my feet
as i stand

smell the
beach
almost within
reach

shallows grab
at my shins
as if to lure
me back in
