Nothing Lasts Forever

entry picture

What was once bright green,

strong and unfurling.

Is now brown and shrivelled,

decaying and curling.

Blown around and around,

in the gutter it stops,

resting on a delicate cobweb,

diamond like raindrops.

An image caught on camera,

a moment to treasure.

created by mother nature,

nothing lasts forever.

A meaningful poem, indeed. Only if we pay heed.

I enjoyed this imagery of re-evaluating seemingly useless material such as a leaf. P. ?
