I am sat here in my kitchen

watching the pouring rain

waiting patiently for news

of when we can travel again

ready to press next and pay

worry and panic escalates

do I really want to go away

 

Do I want to go at the airport

can I cope the queues and stress

could I wear a mask for hours

toilet restrictions cause distress

 

Would it be worth all the cost

for just week in the sunshine

It is all is such a gamble

the responsibility is all mine

 

I know it would be so lovely

to visit our home in the sun

meet up with distant friends

all together again having fun

 

My heart battles with my head 

what shall I do for the best

my husband has worked so hard

he is in desperate need of a rest.

 

Fingers hover over the keyboard
