Will serve our country best

The vegetables not the beasts we kill

Will be humanities test

Plague is never spread

from the fruits of the earth

when we pay such a heavy price

what is a carcass worth?

 

From cattle, bird or bat

There spreads human disease

Letting the gristle and the fat

Bring civilisation to its knees

Then we drive shafts into the soil

To extract its rich reserves.

Are mounds of worthless spoil

What this planet truly deserves?

 

We have forgotten what we are

raped this green and pleasant land

fossil fuels in our car

it’s time that mankind made a stand

small change will bring reward

at the least it is a start

ditch the burgers, be solar stored
