Mum To The Rescue.. Well At Least I Tried
10pm, 18th of June,
I receive a message from my Son.
Hi Mum it's me,
can you help me get something done?
No problem Son,
I'll do it tomorrow, no need to worry.
No Mum,
it's very urgent, I need it doing in a hurry!
I switch on the laptop,
log on,
find the relevant file.
I read, scan and photocopy,
I type,
this takes quite a while.
The deadline is midnight,
he says,
he forgot to remember.
I glance at the email
and sigh,
it is dated the 16th of December.
Two hours later and just in time,
I press send, sit back, again I sigh.
Ping!
Out of office until next week,
came back the automatic reply.
